What is NLP?

NLP has been described as the art and science of modelling human excellence. That is quite a grand statement but what it really means is that NLP is the end result of clever people such as Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the co-founders of NLP, studying in depth and over many years the way very successful individuals think and communicate, breaking down into steps all the processes that they went through to understand how they got their intended results.

They started in the mid 1970’s and their studies were initially based on analysis and modelling of the techniques developed by the most outstanding therapists practising at that time, including Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson. NLP is still an evolving field with other contributors continuing to develop the techniques.

In the United Kingdom recognition of the effectiveness of NLP has grown steadily over the past few years and the techniques and methods have been further developed by eminent proponents such as Dr Tad James, Dr David Shepard, Paul McKenna and many others.

The huge success of NLP is due to the fact that they have been able to take what they have learned and break down each step in easy to understand, bite sized pieces which can then be used to help individuals and organisations not reaching their full potential to find it.

As a Master Practitioner of NLP, I can use these proven methods and techniques and design them specifically to help individual people to access their full potential in an easy and accessible way.

What happens during an NLP session?

After you have called or emailed me, we will arrange our initial session. This can now be by phone, Skype/Teams or you can come to see me. The initial session is one hour, though sometimes this can be a little longer as I can talk a lot. It will enable us to get to know each other better, discuss what is bothering you and in general decide how best I can be of help. Following this initial contact if you think this would help you we can arrange further sessions to suit your individual needs.

I want every NLP session to be relaxed, fun and enjoyable for you. It will be flexible and tailored to your individual needs. By combining NLP techniques and methods best suited for you, I can provide you with the fastest possible results that will let you see and feel the benefits quickly. We are all individuals and as such learn at different rates and pace ourselves differently. It should be a fun and successful way for you to be able to learn a lot more about what makes you an individual and how to bring out the very best in yourself. By taking a positive and proactive approach to understanding and tackling the issues affecting your life, you are quickly able to take back your personal power and feel happier.

Occasionally I may ask you to go away and do exercises between sessions. These are designed to further install what you have learned during your sessions and to assist you in building up your own ability to use these techniques on your own. As well as this I am always available to chat about what you have learned for further clarity.

As mentioned earlier, there are various ways I can conduct these sessions:     

By Phone: If you live too far away (I am in the West of Scotland) you can call me and we can work together this way. I will email you a pre-session questionnaires and some forms which you need to email back to me prior to our first session. This enables us to have a very productive introduction where we can assess any issues you raise and decide how best to move forward.

By Skype/Team: If you live far away however would prefer to work face to face we can arrange a session over Skype or Teams. As would be done with a phone call session, I will email a questionnaire and some forms prior to our first appointment.

At My Home: After initial contact I will email or post you out the pre-session questionnaire and forms, which, as mentioned previously, you will need to return to me before your first arranged session. We can then arrange a suitable time for you to come to see me. These sessions will follow the same process as any other where we will have a chat about your responses on the questionnaire and decide together the best way to help you move forward.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the COVID 19 virus I am not presently seeing any clients at my house. However I still offer sessions via the phone or over Skype/Teams.** 


I strongly believe that NLP is of value to everyone therefore I am keeping my hourly rate at an accessible level. There are no hidden costs.

The charges are as follows:

Phone consultations: Base rate of £50 per hour. (The appointments can be booked in 30 minute slots or hour slots. A half hour session will cost half the base rate, so in this case £25.)

1 Hour Session:

Skype/Teams call: Based rate of £50 per hour. (The appointments can be booked in 30 minute slots or hour slots. A half hour session will cost half the base rate, so in this case £25.)
